Yes, we all have paperwork and files that we’d prefer to never see again, yet we have to save. The best thing you can do for your work space and processing the everyday papers is to move the archives into long-term storage. Plastic boxes help to keep out pests, rodents and moisture (although they don’t provide a seal in the case of flooding). Remember, cardboard boxes are for short-term storage as they’re made of paper. These are perfect for past tax returns and other records that need to be saved for a certain amount of time, yet you wouldn’t need to access any more than the rare occasion. Many are sized for letter in one direction and legal the other and you can still use the hanging files for easy access. Label the outside and store in an appropriate place where confidential documents will be secure. These are affordable and you can find them at any home office supply store (the one above is from Staples).
Happy Organizing!
