Laundry is chore; it always will be. But one of my favorite things to help make it easier is a collapsible drying rack. I always end up with a bunch of clothes to line dry or I choose to do so to help preserve a favorite (it saves energy too, but that really isn’t my motivation). Nobody wants wet clothes handing all over the house and finding the space or the appropriate spot to drape them can be a challenge. Enter the collapsible drying rack. They fold up to be pretty flat and can slide under a bed or hide in the closet. But they’re very easy to pop up when you need them. You can find them at stores like Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond or The Container Store. Be wary of ones with wood dowels as in the past they’ve stained my clothes (I currently have a wood one, but the dowels are coated). It’s best to get one that’s already assembled as I’ve also used ones that I put together, which was super easy to do, but rods were popping out of place all the time.

This is our favorite one, Keri, from IKEA: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50095091/. So many of the racks are built so that wet clothes hang directly over wet clothes. This one has so many angles, nothing is ever on top of anything else. Easy to open and fold up (I’ve done it with one hand!) and it’s plastic over metal so no stains. AND it’s only 20 bucks!
